Bequia Beach, St Vincent & The Grenadines
Fiona Ali-Williams, Travel Adviser
“I loved the slow pace of life during my stay at Bequia Beach, one of the most charming and secluded boutique hotels I’ve had the pleasure of staying at in the Caribbean. The island is small, so you instantly feel at home, and the islanders are known for their friendliness, which I experienced at every turn. Bequia has a great selection of seafront restaurants, which are gorgeous and relaxed with great views over the water and little local town. It is also a great island for exploring by bike or going out on lovely scenic walks - I simply loved everything about it!”
The Residence Maldives
Helen Baker, Travel Adviser
“It is the location of The Residence Maldives that makes this hotel so special and memorable for me. Located in the very southern part of the Maldives, The Residence is in a very unspoilt area and with very few other hotels around, you really do feel like you are staying in the middle of nowhere. Having travelled extensively, I can honestly say I have never seen such turquoise water and white beaches and the quality of the diving and snorkelling here was the best I have experienced. The staff at this hotel were the friendliest, most humble people I have met and the service was outstanding. I particularly loved the Spa by Clarins, where I had one of the best massages ever in one of their pavilions over the water with amazing views. Probably the most stunning thing here was the sunsets from the overwater villas!”
The Residence Mauritius
Natalia Pisova, Product Manager
“It is hard to describe just how special The Residence Mauritius feels when you’re there, and I’m not just saying that because I recently got engaged on the balcony of our beautiful Beachfront Suite, watching the sunrise at 5:30 in the morning!
Being on the east coast of Mauritius means that you get the most spectacular sunrise – you will have to get up super early to see it, but it’s definitely worth it for the extraordinary colours reflecting on the Indian Ocean. The Residence has been beautifully decorated in the style of an old plantation mansion, so it’s very elegant, and although it’s modern, it feels almost like going back in time – there’s a real air of old-school class. The beach is out of this world, and from someone who’s had her fair share of luxury beach holidays, that’s saying something! Beautiful white sand stretches on for miles and you can stroll along the shore for hours taking in the breathtaking scenery. The Plantation Restaurant serves incredible cuisine and has stunning views over the ocean – dining here is a fantastic experience.”
Colony Club by Elegant Hotels, Barbados
Karen Boulton, Travel Adviser
“I love staying in the Luxury Poolside Rooms at Colony Club, which give direct access to the stunning pool for early morning dips. The complimentary watersports here are excellent and there’s such a range to try out, from snorkelling to tube rides behind a speed boat, which is really fun and a family favourite.
Colony Club is also great for anyone wanting to indulge in delicious but healthy food whilst on holiday, as they have a fantastic new menu incorporating fresh vegetables and fruit straight from their organic garden. The Lobster & Jazz Evening under the stars is not to be missed; it’s a fabulous way to spend an evening dancing under the stars to live music on this gorgeous Barbados beach.”
The Inn at English Harbour, Antigua
Louise Gray, Travel Adviser
“My stay at The Inn at English Harbour in Antigua was absolutely made by the amazing staff there, who really enhance the atmosphere to make it a warm and friendly home away from home, where you’ll never want to leave. I absolutely loved the eclectic décor in the Suites, with gorgeous mahogany floors and spacious terraces that are perfect for sunbathing with some privacy. Antigua has such a rich history and culture and the Inn is amazing at putting together really interesting outings for you to get under the skin of the local surroundings, so be sure to make the most of this on your trip. One of my favourite things here that I’d definitely recommend is dining out on the terrace, looking out at the yachts swaying in the harbour, with lush green hills all around the bay – the views are superb and the setting is so peaceful. Plus, the chef’s amazing dishes all incorporate ingredients grown in The Inn’s own organic garden, so you know everything is super fresh. This is one of the most relaxing places to stay on the island, or indeed, in the Caribbean. They even offer guests spiritual and meditation sessions with an expert, so that you can really relax in this serene environment.”
Half Moon, Jamaica
Natasha Mustra-Wood, Aviation Manager
“My family and I had the most memorable holiday at Half Moon in Jamaica. The superb ocean view in our cottage was a real highlight and spending time on the balcony listening to the waves gently rolling on to the beach was just perfect. I managed to take some ‘me’ time to indulge in the Spa - the West Indies Head and Body Massage was just what I needed, the perfect treat and I would highly recommend it. Half Moon really took care of us with true Jamaican hospitality. We all know that travelling with children can be stressful, but there was no need for any of the usual planning and preparation as everything was right on our doorstep; Half Moon anticipated our needs even before we did. They do it so elegantly yet unpretentiously, giving you the chance to truly relax and forget about everything else.”
